Why us

Pick your plugins with full knowledge.

Official directories tell you what a plugin does. WP Footprint Pulse tells you what it costs.

Real measurements

No estimates. Every score comes from actual measurements on real WordPress sites in production.

Open methodology

Thresholds and formulas published. You can verify how every grade is computed, and suggest improvements.

Strict anonymity

No IP, no email. Your domain is sent once to prove the site is yours, then your scans travel with an opaque identifier.

Evolution over time

Track whether a new plugin version got heavier or lighter. Spot performance regressions.

A more sober web

Every millisecond saved, every request avoided, is energy not consumed by servers and devices. A lighter plugin means a faster site — and a slightly less hungry web.

Performance verdict, real-world measurements, and tips to decide in two minutes.

Our mission

A lighter WordPress, together.

WP Footprint Pulse belongs to no brand, takes no sponsor, and shows no paid rankings. The measurements come from WordPress admins like you, sharing what their sites observe — anonymously.

Independent

No plugin author pays to rank higher. Grades come from real measurements, not marketing. Heavy plugins rank heavy. Light plugins win.

Built by contributors

WP Footprint Pulse lives thanks to 22 contributing sites that agreed to share their scans. The more we are, the more reliable the grades, the lighter the web.

Green by design

Every millisecond saved is less CPU, less RAM, less data transferred. At the scale of the WordPress web (43% of the global web), that adds up to kWh saved every day.

Methodology

How WP Footprint Pulse measures.

  1. 01

    The plugin scans

WP Footprint, installed on your site, measures a page once with all plugins active, then disables each plugin in turn to isolate its own impact.

  2. 02

    The deltas come in

With your consent, the measured impact for each plugin (time, memory, SQL, assets, HTTP) is sent to WP Footprint Pulse anonymously, signed, and over HTTPS.

  3. 03

    WP Footprint Pulse aggregates

WP Footprint Pulse computes the median of contributions from all sites by plugin and version, and derives an A to E grade using absolute thresholds.

A grade backed by clear rules.

Per-version medians over 90 days, confidence intervals, absolute thresholds for grades A to E. All documented.
